Leonardo is a photographer and artist living in London, UK.

He started his photography career shooting sport and portrait photography in Whistler, BC, before moving to Banff and setting up photography classes, an online fine art print store and a number of other photography services for clients.  

​

​When covid hit, he spent his time studying our night skies and producing work inspired by our infinite universe. In 2021 his artwork 'Celestial Fracture' was named the winner of the Royal Museum Greenwich Astronomy Photographer of the Year Annie Maunder Prize, being exhibited in the Museum for the year. In September 2025 another of his artworks 'Fourth Dimension', again won The Astronomy Photographer of the Year, Annie Maunder Prize and was exhibited in Greenwich.

​​​​​Leonardo continues to shoot commercially, whilst creating landscape photography and a range of experimental photography artworks. His work explores spatial landscape abstraction, using strong contrasts between light and dark to sculpt form and guide the viewer around organic or geometric imagery. In addition to the night sky, he has a strong interest in the natural world and his imagery has been used in a wide range of publications and has been exhibited internationally.

Leonardo is currently preparing his solo exhibition at Photobook Gallery, that is taking place during Frieze London 2026. The exhibition features astrophotography cyanotypes, works from his paper abstraction series, infrared photography and a new body of work utilizing cameraless photography. This will take place for one day only 14:00-20:30, on ​​​​​Saturday October 17th at              4 Leonard Circus, London, EC2A 4DQ.
